The Village of Ojén

The Village of Ojén

Ojén, Spain is very dramatically situated in the mountains of the Sierra de las Nieves Nature Park. It is 8 kms due north from Marbella which has the best climate in the Mediterranean. It is a 45 minute drive from Malaga airport along a brand new toll road.

It is hard to believe that the coast and the tourists are so near because this is still a traditional Spanish village with a marvellously relaxed way of life. From the tranquillity of our garden, you are a two minute walk from the village square, which is filled with tapas bars and shops and the hustle and bustle of a prosperous large village. There is an excellent market on Saturdays. For eating, you can choose from spit-roasted chickens to take away, or pizzas through a variety of excellent restaurants, none of which are more than a few minutes’ walk away.

For some ‘bling’ factor, there is Marbella just down the road, which is a shopper’s paradise and along the coast is the famous Puerto Banus where you can view boats and gin-palaces that will make your eyes water.

Ojén’s Natural Surroundings

The village of Ojén is on the edge of  a large national park La Sierra de las Nieves which is one of the few areas where the mountain goats survive. The surrounding mountains are covered in oak, pine and cork trees.

Because it is so well positioned the village boasts a number of eye-catching natural features and areas of historical importance. There are numerous walks from the village where you will find spectacular wild flowers and herbs and dramatic views.

There are wonderful golf courses around and many good beaches. Ronda, Granada, Cordoba and Seville are within touring distance.
